Scripture Thought Of The Day – June 03, 2017

They claim to know God, but they deny him by what they do.  They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit to do anything good.

– Titus 1:16 (GOD’S WORD® Translation (©1995))

Anybody can claim to have a relationship with God.  But if they are living unholy, then their life contradicts that statement.

Scripture Thought Of The Day – June 01, 2017

Dear friends, since you are foreigners and temporary residents [in the world], I’m encouraging you to keep away from the desires of your corrupt nature. These desires constantly attack you.

– 1 Peter 2:11 (GOD’S WORD® Translation (©1995))

We must be CONSTANTLY on guard against temptations that the enemy puts in front of us.  The more you do for God the more the enemy works to bring you down.  Be alert and live holy!

Scripture Thought Of The Day – May 30, 2017

So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Teach them to do everything I have commanded you.  And remember that I am always with you until the end of time.

– Matthew 28:19-20 ((GOD’S WORD® Translation (©1995))

Notice this doesn’t say go “if you feel like it” or go “as long as it’s convenient.”  It’s not a question of whether you are specifically called to do it either.   This is something we are ALL commanded to do.

Scripture Thought Of The Day – May 25, 2017

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

– Psalm 107:21 (King James Bible)

Always be grateful for all the good things God allows you to have.  Remember this…none of us are entitled to ANYTHING.  It’s by God’s grace that you are even saved in the first place let alone that you are blessed in this life.  Millions in this world don’t have a fraction of what we call necessities.

Scripture Thought Of The Day – May 24, 2017

The Pharisees saw this and asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”  When Jesus heard that, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor; those who are sick do.  Learn what this means: ‘I want mercy, not sacrifices.’ I’ve come to call sinners, not people who think they have God’s approval.”

-Matthew 9:11-13 ((GOD’S WORD® Translation (©1995))

Jesus can’t help people who think they have it all together with God despite the fact that they don’t really know Him.  He looks for those who are humble and freely admit that they are sinful and need His help.
